On the afternoon of August 30, a delegation led by Professor Chen Jin from the Shanghai Institute of Science of Science and Tsinghua University Research Center for Technological Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the Center) visited the National Center of Technology Innovation for Smart Process Manufacturing (referred to as the NCTI-SPM). The delegation engaged in discussions with Li Lixin, Director of the Administrative Department of NCTI-SPM, and key members Yang Minglei and Du Wei regarding successful practices and valuable experiences in technological innovation.
Prior to the meeting, Professor Chen Jin and his delegation toured the NCTI-SPM's exhibition and demonstrations, including the ethylene virtual plant, full-process optimization system, intelligent manufacturing systems, and industrial software solutions.
During the symposium, Yang Minglei shared the background, original intentions, mission positioning of the NCTI-SPM's establishment, as well as the experiences and challenges encountered during its preparatory phase. Professor Chen Jin and his team raised in-depth inquiries on several key topics, including how the NCTI-SPM fulfills national missions while achieving self-sustaining capabilities, and how its technological layout addresses cutting-edge, critical, disruptive innovations while meeting common industry needs. Yang Minglei and other representatives provided comprehensive responses to each question.
The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Shanghai Institute of Science of Science, Tsinghua University Research Center for Technological Innovation, and the NCTI-SPM.
